Screw Piles can be installed through frost and locations of soft soil or high ground water where concrete piles are not practical. They can also be installed:
on steep slopes
in areas with low headroom
in areas of poor access
Installation torque is constantly monitored during installation. This is done to verify that the piles are installed in the type of soil that we were anticipating. Where minimum installation torque is not achieved, engineers will reassess the installation to determine if additional depth is required. This provides feedback to the engineers much the same as blow counts are reported to the engineer on driven pile installations.
